summary
When you are craving a fast and nutrition-packed breakfast, a smoothie bowl is a fantastic go-to. It’s basically a very thick smoothie poured into a bowl so that you can pile on toppings like granola, fresh fruit, shredded coconut and a drizzle of honey. Two tricks for a great smoothie bowl are to use really ripe fruit for great flavor, and to freeze the fruit first for perfect texture and consistency.

notes
Smoothie bowls are meant to be very thick so that you can arrange ingredients on top. Placing your bowls in the freezer will help to keep this mango smoothie bowl recipe frozen and holding its shape.
This does take a bit of advanced notice because you need frozen fruit. Yes, you can use store-bought frozen mango but it will not be as flavorful. Yes, you can use fruit that isn’t frozen but you will need to add ice cubes to get the frozen consistency.
Other toppings: a drizzle of maple syrup, sliced mango, sliced banana, raspberries, cocoa nibs.
You can substitute the almond milk with coconut milk for a tropical flavored bowl.
