Sprucing Up Any Room with Home Decor
Round out the aesthetic of your most-visited rooms with home decor and accessories. Not sure where to begin? Consider starting in the family room. Not only do throw pillows and blankets keep everyone cozy during a movie marathon, they also add texture and color to your furniture—sectional sofas, loveseats and armchairs included. Then, in the master suite, adorn the walls with hanging mirrors, as well as framed wall art and an intricate clock, that speak to your personal style. If you want to make a statement when greeting guests in the foyer, be sure to accent the narby console table with decorative bowls, ceramic vases and other eye-catching objects. Home Decor for the Foyer or Entryway
Make use of entryway decor to help friends and family feel right at home as soon as they enter your residence. Think a shoe rack right by the door, or a durable rug that helps keep everyone's footwear orderly during their stay. No matter your preference, a coat rack nearby provides a convenient place to hang jackets, hats, scarves and other outerwear, while another with a built-in bench offers a spot to temporarily rest. Working in a more spacious foyer? Add a sideboard or console table, too—setting a catchall tray, faux florals in bud vases and other subtle decor on top. Don't forget to set an umbrella holder within reach as well. A floor-length mirror rounds out the look. Not only does it make the space appear larger, it also lets you check your appearance before heading out.
Home Decor for the Living Room
Once your visitors have settled in, lead them to a living room made even more comfortable with a collection of home decor and accessories. For instance, a woven blanket or two draped over the seatback of an L-shaped sectional sofa provides warmth, while decorative pillows add stylish support. Stick with feather-down inserts if you want to experience luxurious softness, or keep with a vegan lifestyle when going with down-alternative ones instead. Either way, the covers are easy to change out from season to season. Looking for concealed storage? Consider keeping extra linens in the storage ottoman, or neatly fold them before placing them in a rattan basket beside the media console. Be sure to decorate the living room's walls, too. Think an art print or two above the mantel, or a gallery wall behind the loveseat. If you have a fireplace, keep coordinating tools close and use an intricate fireplace screen for safety.
Home Decor for the Dining Room
When it's time to eat, complete the theme of the dining room with home decor that sets the appropriate mood. Hosting a casual gathering? Drape a linen runner across the center of the dining table. One in a solid color keeps the aesthetic simple, while another that's patterned draws in the eye as everyone takes their seat. Either way, a wood centerpiece bowl with decorative pebbles, pine cones, faux flowers and other fillers adds the final touch. For more formal affairs, consider providing each attendee with their own place setting—complete with stainless steel flatware and coordinating charger plates. A candelabra featuring pillar or taper candles creates a warm ambience, and a chandelier hanging from the ceiling rounds out the sophisticated event.
Home Decor for the Bedroom
Ready to head to sleep after a day of entertaining? Fill the bedroom with home decor that helps create a cozy hideaway. Start simple with a pile of decorative pillows propped up against the headboard. Think patterns and colors that complement the duvet cover to maintain a cohesive look, or take a more eclectic approach with contrasting hues instead. No matter your style preference, a regular bed pillow or two provides the right amount of support. Want to make the guest room feel a bit larger? Hang a mirror above the dresser. Classic shapes, including round and square, offer versatility, while a starburst one enhances a modern theme. A dresser with drawers rounds out the look, as do the ring dish and jewelry box placed on top.
